Do you need vaccinations?
Please make note of the following important information:
Springfield Medical Centre holds a weekly Travel Vaccination Clinic with the Nurse. The clinics are usually on Tuesdays and Fridays. We strongly advise you to make travel appointments well in advance, at least 6 weeks before the date of travel.
· In order to secure an initial telephone appointment to discuss your travel needs, you will need to pay a non-refundable charge of £10.00.
· If you are unable to attend the appointment, you must cancel the appointment at least 2 working days before your appointment. Please be advised that if you do not attend your travel appointment, we will not offer you another appointment and you will have to attend a private travel clinic.
· Some vaccines (see below) require a charge and you will be required to pay for the vaccinations in full before we can order and administer them. We accept payment by card or via BACS.
· Failure to attend an in person appointment for administration of vaccines will mean that the vaccines are returned to you and you will need to make alternative arrangements.
· Malaria tablets are no longer available free on the NHS. You will be get a private prescription and will be required to pay for tablets purchased from the pharmacy.
· Travel appointments are limited and may not always be available. In the event we have no availability, we will advise you to contact your local Pharmacy offering travel vaccinations or a Travel Clinic.
